How to download and install Google Chrome

Install Chrome on Windows

1. Download the installation file.

2. If prompted, click Run or Save.

3. If you chose Save, double-click the download to start installing.

4. Start Chrome:

·         Windows 7: A Chrome window opens once everything is done.

·         Windows 8 and 8.1: A welcome dialogue appears. Click Next to select your default browser.

·         Windows 10: A Chrome window opens once everything is done. You can make Chrome your default browser.

 

Install Chrome on Mac

1. Download the installation file.

2. Open the file called 'Google Chrome.dmg'.

3. In the window that opens, find Chrome .

4. Drag Chrome to the Applications folder.

·         You might be asked to enter the admin password.

·         If you don't know the admin password, drag Chrome to a place on your computer where you can make edits, like your desktop.

5. Open Chrome.

6. Open Finder.

7. In the sidebar, to the right of Google Chrome, click Eject .

 

If Adobe Flash player isn’t working

If Adobe Flash isn't working or you see that the following error messages, try the troubleshooting steps below.

·         Adobe Flash has been blocked because it is out of date

·         Couldn’t load plug-in

·         The following plug-ins were blocked on this page

If you're using a mobile device, Flash won't work on Chrome.

Step 1: Turn on Adobe Flash Player

1.     On your computer, open Chrome.

2.     At the top-right, click More   Settings.

3.     At the bottom, click Show advanced settings.

4.     Under 'Privacy', click Content settings.

5.     Under 'Flash', choose “Allow sites to run Flash”.

6.     At the bottom, click Done.

Step 2: Update Adobe Flash Player

1.     On your computer, open Chrome.

2.     In the address bar at the top, enter chrome://components and press Enter.

3.     Under 'Adobe Flash Player', click Check for update.

4.     Go back to the page with the Flash content. If it doesn't load automatically, at the top-left, click Reload .

Step 3: Make sure that Chrome is up to date

1.     On your computer, open Chrome.

2.     At the top-right, click More .

3.     Click Update Google Chrome. If you don't see this button, you're on the latest version.

4. Click Relaunch.

Step 4: Install Flash Player from Adobe's website

1.     On your computer, open Chrome.

2.     Go to http://www.adobe.com/go/chrome.

3.     Under 'Step 1', select your computer's operating system.

4.     Under 'Step 2', choose the option that lists 'PPAPI'.

5.     Click Download now, and follow the steps to install Adobe Flash Player.
